The Mission Ready Detailing Process

1. Pre-Wash Inspection

Every job begins with a full inspection of your boat. We identify problem areas like oxidation hot spots, waterlines, and stained surfaces, then document the starting condition with photos so the before and after speaks for itself.

2. Hand Wash

A thorough hand wash with marine-grade soap and soft applicators, followed by a rinse and dry. We always work top down so dirt and salt never re-deposit on freshly cleaned surfaces.

3. Compound and Polish

Multi-stage cutting and polishing to lift oxidation and restore depth to the gelcoat. Heavily weathered finishes get an additional pass to bring back the shine before wax is applied.

4. Premium Wax & Protection

We finish with premium Starke Yacht Care products, applied by professional buffer for an even, long-lasting coat. Protection lasts roughly 12 months, with an optional ceramic coating upgrade for boats that need it.

5. Detail Finish

Stainless polished, glass cleaned, non-skid treated, and a final hand dry-down. These are the details that separate a basic wash from a true detail. Completion photos sent when we're done.

How Often

A fresh coat of wax every 6 months. Re-waxing twice a year seals and protects the gelcoat against salt and sun. The single most important thing you can do to keep your finish from chalking, fading, and oxidizing, and to protect resale value.

Monthly maintenance washes in between. Regular salt-spray rinses and washdowns stop salt and grime from etching into the finish between waxes. Skipping even one season often doubles the time and cost of restoration later.

Compound & polish only when it's needed. Cutting compound corrects oxidation and haze on a weathered hull. It isn't something a well-maintained boat needs on a schedule. If your gelcoat is already chalky or faded, a one-time compound and polish brings it back before you start the wax routine.

Charter operators, rental fleets, and heavily-used vessels typically run shorter intervals. We'll recommend a schedule after your first detail based on your boat's actual condition, not a generic calendar.
